An Extremely Fine Ancient Roman bronze coin of Constantine II, dating to approximately 337-340 AD and from the Trier mint. An extremely detailed, very well struck coin with beautiful patina. The obverse of the coin depicts a fabulous portrait of the Emperor, who is shown facing left and wearing the laurel wreath. The Emperor is portrayed idealistically, with strong jaw, prominent features and closely cropped hair. The legend reads "CONSTANTINVS IVN NOB C". The reverse shows a Camp gate (symbol of military strength), with the legend "PROVIDENTIAE CAESS" - "to the good fortune of the Emperors". A fabulous coin. Diameter: 20.6 mm Weight: 3.45 g
