Terms & Conditions of Use for ArtAncient.com
Welcome to ArtAncient.com
By continuing to browse and use this website you are agreeing to comply with and be bound by the following terms and conditions of use, which together with our Privacy Policy govern ArtAncient LtdÕs relationship with you in relation to this website.
The term "ArtAncient Ltd." or "us" or or "the company" or "we" refers to the owner of the website. The term "you" or "the user" or "the buyer" refers to the user or viewer of this website.
The use of this website is subject to the following terms of use:
1.1 - Condition
We endeavour to point out all significant damage and restorations in the description of items that we sell. However, buyers should be aware that this information is subjective, especially in the case of Ancient Art. The absence of information concerning condition does not mean that the item is completely free of faults and we encourage prospective buyers to enquire if they have any specific questions regarding condition.
1.2 - Dimensions
Please note that all dimensions are approximate.
1.3 - External Links
We may occaisionally provide external links to websites in our descriptions and elsewhere. These may serve to illustrate a point or provide additional information which we feel may be of interest to the user. We do not however accept any liability for the content of these external sites, which are not under our control.
1.4 - Export Licenses
Some Items that we offer for sale may be subject to a UK or EU export licence. If this is the case we will normally point this out in the description. If an export licence is required this will not generally be refused but will result in an approximately 2-3 week delay before shipment. We will require payment before applying for the export licence but the application itself will not incur any additional expense on your part.
1.5 - Customs
International shipments may occasionally be subject to delay in customs. If this is the case we will provide all possible information in order to expedite the situation. Buyers will appreciate that these delays are beyond our control. We do not accept liability for financial loss incurred as a result of this delay. Please be aware that our standard shipping estimates do not take account of any possible customs delay.
1.6 - Return Policy
We want you to be happy with your purchase. We therefore offer a 10 day, no questions asked money back guarantee. In this case the item must be returned prior to any refund, in the condition in which it was sent. We will not be responsible for shipping costs incurred in the return of such items and whilst we will not charge a restocking fee in this instance, we reserve the right to charge a small fee to cover any payment processing or additional shipping costs incurred by ourselves. We will not normally refuse an exchange for credit on items purchased in the past; however we reserve the right to charge a restocking fee in this instance.
1.7 - Authenticity
We stand by the authenticity of all objects that we sell. In the very unlikely event that an object's Authenticity is disputed we will accept the object back in return for a full refund of purchase price, subject to the following conditions:
1) That the item's authenticity has been disputed by a respected, named authority in the relevant field, mutually acceptable to both the buyer and ourselves.
2) At our discretion, we may require a written statement by the said authority that he/she believes the item to be not authentic for culture and period.
3) We are not liable for any special, conditional or incidental damages that may have ocurred. Nor are we liable for interest. The remedy available to the buyer in this event will be the full refund of purchase price.
4) Whilst ArtAncient Ltd. Does not impose a time limit on returns on the grounds of authenticity, in concert with major salerooms we cannot accept responsibility for items that, at the time of purchase, were described according to the commonly held belief of academics and scholars. Nor can we accept returns if the correct identification of an item could only have been made by an investigaton or scientific test that would have been impractical, too expensive or would have damaged the object in question.
1.8 - Jurisdiction
By placing an order on ArtAncient.com, the buyer agrees that any matters relating to the sale of the item or any matters following from it will be governed and interpreted by the courts of England and Wales.
1.9 - Copyright
All images, text and HTML contained on these pages are copyright ArtAncient Ltd. Reproduction of any images contained on this site is prohibited without our written consent. Even after the sale of an item, the relevant images and text shall remain the property of ArtAncient Ltd.
2.0 - Severability
If any part of these terms and conditions are deemed inappropriate or impossible to enforce in court, the relevant areas shall be discounted and the remainder of the terms and conditions shall be valid to the maximum extent of the law.
